Renaissance Discovery Course – June 2018

A four session Renaissance Discovery Course has recently been completed by a wonderful group of keen and energetic enthusiasts of the early art of courtly dance. During the course, our participants have learnt and performed a stately processional Pavane, the character-filled Branle Des Lavandieres, an elegant Almain Lorrayne and a flirtatious Courante. The finer points of courtly arm positions and specific footwork techniques were featured, as were the techniques of Renaissance floorcraft and musicality.

Participants were instructed and assisted by the Courtly Arts Dancers on their Winter break from rehearsals.
